Chunky Beets and Icy Red Onions - FFWD

Another recipe that I never would have tried if it wasn't for FFWD. This was really good!

I used the fresh marjoram option and will cut that by half next time. It was just slightly too much marjoram flavor. The onions on top were a perfect foil for the richness of the dressed beets. We had this with sauteed monkfish. Great meal!

I wish the photo was better. The beets look a bit scary. Much prettier in real life.

  1. I used oregano with mine and loved it but will use less next time. Glad you liked it. So many people don't like beets....or onions!

  2. Hi Luciacara....I used fresh oregano with mine and loved it! Love the icy red onions and Dorie's idea of dunking the onion rings in ice water is brilliant ! the crunchiness of the onions and the honey mustard viniagrette make the beets salad really awesome ! :) Love it and I am glad that I have join you guys in trying out the recipe :)

    Have a nice day ,

  5. Hi everyone! thanks for visiting :) - I just thought the beets were looking more like raw pieces of filet mignon than a vegetable :).
